Spring has arrived in the Minervois.

At last,we've made a start.

Here's a few pictures of us gutting the house. We have managed to uncover some wonderful original beams on the ground floor. We have also found some pillar beams on the first floor. Three to four layers of wallpaper have been stripped away.
We have removed all the linoleum floor tiles and the kitchen partition.
The next job is the plumbing and boarding. The old boiler and sink are going. The shower on the landing is going to be converted into a laundry. The small bathroom will be extended into the spare bedroom with a large shower, new sink and toilet. The lounge will be open plan with a new kitchen and breakfast bar. The far end will be the living area.
The new stone tiled floor, kitchen and bathroom will be fitted in October.  Hopefully everything will be finished by the end of November.

Original beams uncovered.
